Strictly Control Startup And Lifting Load
Avoid frequent sharp startup and emergency braking. PLC soft start can reduce instantaneous impact on gear and bearing. Never overload hoisting, and do not drag heavy loads horizontally, which will cause extra radial force on the reducer.
During round-the-clock construction, arrange short rest intervals properly. Long-term non-stop operation will lead to sharp temperature rise of gear oil and accelerate oil deterioration.
Maintain Regular Lubrication And Oil Temperature
Use high-quality anti-wear gear oil specially for construction machinery. Replace lubricating oil strictly according to the cycle, and drain out metal powder mixed in the oil.
Check the oil level every shift. Too low oil level will cause insufficient lubrication; excessive oil will lead to high temperature and oil leakage. Keep the oil temperature below 80℃ all the time.
Check Sealing And Dust Prevention
Replace aging oil seals regularly to prevent oil leakage and sand, dust and rainwater from entering the gearbox. Dust mixed into lubricant will form abrasive particles and wear down gears rapidly.
For outdoor all-weather construction, keep the reducer shell intact. Prevent rainwater from infiltrating and causing gear rust.
Inspect Gear And Bearing Wear Periodically
Open the inspection cover every month to check tooth surface pitting, abrasion and bearing clearance. Replace worn parts early before small faults expand into serious damage.
Keep the fixed connection bolts tight. Loose installation will produce vibration and aggravate gear meshing wear.
Conclusion
The service life of the reducer mainly depends on stable load, clean lubrication and good sealing. Avoiding impact startup, controlling continuous working temperature, keeping lubricant clean and carrying out periodic minor inspections can effectively reduce gear wear. These measures help the tower crane keep stable performance even under long-term multi-shift continuous hoisting, cutting maintenance costs and avoiding sudden shutdown on the construction site.
