Tower cranes and construction hoists are specialized pieces of equipment used for high-altitude operations; improper handling by operators can easily lead to safety accidents such as overloading, collisions, and falling objects. To reinforce safety responsibilities and mitigate operational risks, our company has established a mechanism for regular, hands-on safety training. We conduct systematic instruction for operators at partner sites, comprehensively standardizing operational procedures.
1. Scheduled Training Ensuring Full Coverage
Training is conducted on a regular monthly basis. Mandatory pre-job training is required for new hires, while incumbent staff undergo periodic refresher training to consolidate their skills. The program covers all frontline roles-including tower crane operators, hoist operators, and on-site signalers-eliminating issues such as working without certification or relying on unsafe "rule-of-thumb" practices. Every individual is required to participate in training and pass the corresponding assessments.
2. Combining Theory with Practice; Content Tailored to Real-World Site Conditions
The theoretical component covers equipment safety structures, limit protection devices, load standards, and prohibitions regarding operations during adverse weather (such as high winds, extreme heat, or thunderstorms). The practical component features on-site demonstrations of standard procedures-including lifting, slewing, luffing, and unloading-as well as simulations of hazards caused by improper operation. This allows for a clear distinction between correct procedures and dangerous behaviors, deepening understanding and retention.
3. Focusing on High-Risk Areas and Correcting Poor Operational Habits
We specifically target and rectify common on-site violations, such as overloading, diagonal pulling/lifting, unauthorized personnel transport, bypassing safety limiters, and failing to lock out equipment after shifts. By analyzing real-world safety incidents and their consequences, we reinforce safety awareness among operators.
4. Strict Assessment and Certification Requirements
Upon completion of training, participants undergo both a written theoretical exam and a practical on-site assessment; passing both is required for certification. Those who fail must retake the training, and independent operation of equipment is prohibited until the assessment is passed. These rigorous standards ensure the professional competence of all operators.
