Tower cranes and construction hoists operate under heavy loads outdoors for extended periods, causing rapid wear and tear on parts. Inadequate maintenance can easily lead to lifting accidents resulting in injuries and fatalities.

 

Key Points of Tiered Maintenance

 

  • Daily Pre-Shift Inspection: For tower cranes, check the steel structure, wire ropes, various limit switches, and brakes; for hoists, verify the fall arresters, cage door interlocks, and rack and pinion limit switches. Immediately stop the machine if any malfunctions are found.
  • Weekly Maintenance: Tighten bolts and pins, add lubricating oil, clean dust from electrical control systems, check for oil leaks, and test emergency devices.
  • Monthly Maintenance: Weld inspection, safety protection device calibration, lightning protection grounding inspection, and replacement of aging cable seals.
  • Annual Overhaul: Rust and corrosion removal and anti-corrosion treatment of the entire machine, disassembly of braking and drive components, calibration of torque limiters and fall arresters, and completion of load testing.

 

Safety Management Requirements

 

Operating equipment with defects is prohibited; short-circuiting of safety limit switches is forbidden; maintenance personnel must be certified; maintenance frequency should be increased during rainy seasons and sandstorm-prone construction sites; rented equipment must undergo a full set of maintenance and testing before entering the site.

Routine implementation of tiered maintenance is crucial to promptly eliminate potential equipment hazards and prevent crane safety accidents at their source.
